So you have been working hard, and would like to take a break to go on a vacation, but your finances say otherwise. Right now, you simply cannot afford a vacation. What do you do?
Assuming that you already have a budget, my recommendation would be to assess your spending categories to see what expenses are controllable or unnecessary, and then find a way to lower those expenses, and save that extra money towards funding your vacation. For example, I used to budget $140 per month for a triple bundle (cable, telephone, and internet). However, spending $140 per month was unnecessary as there were cheaper yet excellent alternatives available. As a result of researching a cheaper alternative that worked for me, I am able to save approximately $100 per month. This money that I used to pay towards a triple bundle package is now being saved to fund a financial goal.
Whatever it is that you are currently paying for and that you can find a cheaper and quality alternative (for example: gym memberships, subscriptions, cable, phone service, etc.), do so and save your money for what is more important and desirable to you. It is possible to save for your vacation or any financial goal that you set for yourself. Just prioritize what is important, and reduce spending on the things that are less important.
